Here we go....

Welcome! I have thought long and hard about the best way to share our travel experiences and offer some tips that can benefit you during your travels. It seems logical to give a little background information first. My husband and I have 2 daughters, ages 8 & 5, and we have been traveling with them since they were infants.
Some trips were easier than others and we even took a few trips, leaving them at home with Grandma and Papa. As much as we enjoyed the time alone, we often found ourselves saying, "Wow, the girls would love this!" Although they weren't with us, we did find a lot of kid-friendly activities to share with you. Because we enjoy traveling so much, it is crucial for me to find the best deals and come up with creative ways to save money while on our trip. I would rather take several trips a year, cutting costs where possible, than go on one trip every 5 years.
I think it is also important to note that we own a timeshare (which I highly recommend). We own one week a year and it forces us to plan at least one vacation so we don't lose our week. We can either use our week in Maui or trade for a destination anywhere in the world. It also allows us to book getaways and get great package deals through Interval International. We would never be able to afford some of the wonderful hotels we have visited if we had to pay the nightly rate.
Here is a brief summary of the places we have traveled since the girls were born:
Summer 2002- Colorado
Fall 2002-Maui
2003- weekend getaways around Southern California including Disneyland, Palm Desert & Big Bear
