Colorado

I'll begin with our trip to Colorado because it is the 1st trip we took with both girls. We were going to Denver for a family wedding, but found so many kid friendly activities to do with the girls in our spare time. I think the highlight was our day trip up to Estes Park in the Rocky Mountain National Park. The scenery was magnificent and our oldest daughter loved all of the wildlife we spotted. We were so close to deer, moose and other wildlife. For you movie buffs, you can also visit The Stanley Hotel, where The Shining was filmed.
We enjoyed a fun visit to Boulder, as well. We took a walking tour of the University of Colorado-what a beautiful campus- and walked along what is probably the most well-known street in Boulder-Pearl Street. It is a great spot to have lunch, do some shopping and let the kids burn off some of their endless energy!
While flipping through travel brochures in our hotel, we spotted another great activity to do with the girls. We toured the Hammond's Candy Factory in Denver. They are best known for their ribbon candy, as seen in many holiday catalogs. The girls loved wearing their official hair nets and getting to taste samples along the tour.
